New Mercedes Benz S Class 2012

According to several review the S Class model is non competitive model in current year end sales. It is out bid by the Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series . I'm not really sure the reason of the drop sale.Daimler is busy laying the finishing touches on the next big Benz known as W222.

In 2012 and in an attempt to cover an even wider segment of the luxury car market, the new S will be offered in four different bodystyles: standard wheelbase saloon (2012), extended wheelbase saloon (2013), coupé (2013, replaces the CL), and finally a four-seater convertible (2014).

The new S-class is based on a brand-new components set known as MRA, for Mercedes rear-wheel drive architecture. MRA is subdivided into 93 different modules which is a good indication of how flexible this matrix can be. The only two fixed points are the front and rear firewalls in relation to the axles and the drivetrain.

The next S-class boasts a brand-new four-link front suspension designed to further decouple the steering, braking and damping forces. In the rear, we should find an evolution of the faithful multilink arrangement. Air springs are standard again, but the clever ABC anti-roll system costs extra.

Also new for AMG versions is ECO Start/Stop engineering, which ends off the powerplant at end lamps for included petrol overall efficiency.

The 2012 E350 and E550 also get a new engine; the former is now operated by a new, direct-injected V-6-engine that places out 302 hp, while the latter gets a new 4.6-liter, twin-turbo, 402-hp V-8 that is also found in the CL550, S550, and CLS550. Both applications are mated to a new seven-speed indication that allows develop gas mileage. The E350 Bluetec diesel-powered powerplant provides over the same.

Outside, the sheetmetal is still fresh, though all E-Class versions now function normal LED day time managing lamps. Inside, individuals will find a improved rim, a new coloring device group screen, and a press software that has been moved to the middle system.

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class obtains a few small changes mostly to the inside, together with a new and remodeled rim, a coloring device screen section, and a press software that is moved to the middle system. The Mercedes Benz GL-Class cannot be compared to any other make on the market. It is only fair to compare the Mercedes Benz GL320 to its other version the Mercedes Benz GL450. Both of these models fall in the light truck category and offer seating capacity for 7 passengers. Their pricing is also similar but the Mercedes Benz GL450 gives you more power for your money. The Mercedes Benz GL320 CDI SUV is equipped with a 3.0-liter 24-valve V6 diesel engine that outputs 215hp at 3,800rpm while the Mercedes Benz GL450 SUV comes equipped with a 4.6-liter 32-valve V8 engine that outputs 335hp at 6,000rpm. The difference is quite noticeable when gas mileage is taking into consideration. The Mercedes Benz GL320 gives consumers 20mpg in city driving and 25mpg of highway driving while the Mercedes Benz GL450 allows drivers only 15mpg of city driving and 19mpg of highway driving. With gas prices increasing everyday, gas mileage can make all the difference in your decision making process.

The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is the auto maker's large seven passenger SUV and is meant to provide all the luxury and capacity demanded by the American market. The GL-Class is offered with three different engine choices: a 210-hp 3.0-liter diesel V6 in the GL350 BlueTEC, a 335-hp 4.6-liter V8 in the GL450 and a 382-hp 5.5-liter V8 in the GL550. All engines are bolted to a 7-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive system. Standard safety features include anti-lock brakes w/Brake Assist, traction control, stability control w/roll control, eight airbags, mbrace SOS system, PRE-SAFE, trailer stabilization control and a security system, to name a few.

2011 Mercedes CL63 AMG

The 2011 Mercedes CL63 AMG has been improved by VATH Company, a "renovation" which was mainly based on power as the vehicle featured an original equipment with a large number of technical features.
The company managed once again to place the luxury two-door coupe on the highest category on the wheels. The Tuning-kit V63S provides individual precise adjustments in order to obtain a power increase and thus a top speed of 463 kW/630 HP, 930 Nm of torque and a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.3 seconds. The device made of stainless steel and Sport-Kat ensures the reduction of the emission level. Curved steel was used for the fuel inlet in order to optimize the brakes, while optimum connection bntween the vehicle and the road is achieved by means of alloyed disks featuring three spokes on 9x20-inch at the front and 10,5 x20-inch at the rear with the 255/35ZR20 tires or 275/35ZR20. The car has carbon fiber radiator cover and the rear diffuser, while the cap of the side mirrors was also made of carbon fiber. The interior was also a priority of the company, offering a sports steering wheel and a prestigious look mainly due to the use of high-quality leather.

2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS550

2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS550

The new CLS is incrementally larger in every dimension than the outgoing CLS — about an inch longer, a half-inch higher and less than a half-inch wider. Wheelbase grows by 0.8 inch to 113.2 inches. There's fractionally more shoulder room inside, though the dramatically curved roof line still compromises rear headroom, kind of like a, um, coupe.

Despite the larger frontal area, drag has been reduced by 10 percent thanks to an improvement in the drag coefficient to a slippery 0.26. Static bending and torsional stiffness are up 28 and 6 percent, respectively. The beefier body shell adds weight — so although the new CLS boasts new all-aluminum doors, hood, deck lid and parcel shelf, it checks in about 140 pounds heavier than the old CLS.

U.S.-bound CLSs will offer one powertrain at launch as opposed to the cornucopia of offerings overseas. A new — largely new, anyway — 4.6-liter V8 boasts twin Honeywell GT2260 turbochargers and direct injection that join forces to create 402 horsepower, an increase of 20 compared to the outgoing normally aspirated 5.5-liter mill upon which it's based. The familiar seven-speed autobox is, predictably, the only transmission available.

Torque is what's for dinner in cars like the CLS, and that's a particular specialty of the force-fed bent-eight, as there are 443 pound-feet on tap from 1,600-4,750 rpm.

New active all-LED headlights are said to be a world's first, too. Designed to last the life of the car, they automatically dip the cutoff and modulate the high beams in response to oncoming traffic and driving conditions. Very clever indeed. In action each headlight's central nodule eerily pivots around like some kind of sentient being.

Some of the efficiency improvement is due to a stop/start engine function that won't initially be available in stateside CLSs, as compliance of the system with U.S. emissions isn't finalized. Still, this engine is a win-win situation on all fronts. It even sounds terrific as it maintains an exhaust note that suggests ample meat lurks underhood.

2010 Mercedes Benz GLK

2010 Mercedes Benz GLK

What Edmunds Says:
It may not be the roomiest or the most fuel efficient, but the 2010 Mercedes GLK350 is an impressively built compact crossover SUV that should meet the needs and desires of many luxury buyers.
Pros:Impenetrably solid feel, impressive ride and handling, impeccably crafted cabin, high-tech options.
Cons:Less cargo space and rear leg room than competitors, pricier than Japanese rivals.

The Mercedes-Benz GLK, its exterior heavily disguised with black tape but its interior in near-production form, was shown last August to a small group of automotive journalists, including Consumer Guide.

The GLK prototype was a five-passenger 4-door wagon. It was about as long as an X3, but noticeably wider and somewhat lower. Its shape was camouflaged, but appeared to favor square-cut lines and a boxy nose, more in the spirit of Mercedes' GL-Class full-size SUV or the LR3 rather than the more flowing contours of the Mercedes M-Class midsize SUV or such premium-compact SUV newcomers as the EX35.

"It doesn't look so much smaller than the M-Class, even though it is smaller, because of the boxy, edgy design language," said Volker Hellwig, GLK design project manager.

Mercedes said the prototype's dashboard was in near-final form. It consists of a sporty assembly of main gauges set before the driver. Jutting forms separate a series of blocky modules that house groupings of controls. The dashtop on the prototype was black and the instrument panel was of light-toned grained material set off by aluminum trim.

If you compare the GLK with a like-priced popular competitor, the Acura RDX, its external dimensions are similar, except for two measurements. The GLK has a significantly longer wheelbase and more ground clearance. The extra-long wheelbase makes possible excellent highway ride characteristics and the added under-carriage clearance comes in handy if you wander off the paved trail.

Under the hood, the GLK has a 3.5-litre V6 engine that out-muscles the four-cylinder turbo in the RDX – it can propel the GLK to 100 km/hour in less than seven seconds. The GLK’s Energuide fuel consumption figures are 13.3/9.6 L/100 km (city/highway), not much more than the RDX’s 12.5/9.3 L/100 km (city/highway). The GLK’s longitudinally positioned engine, transmission and transfer case also offer advantages over a transversely positioned drive unit.

Mercedes’ fourth-generation 4Matic all-wheel-drive system normally apportions 45 per cent of the drive to the front wheels and 55 per cent to the rear. A number of overlapping electronic systems take care of stability and traction and a newly developed multi-disc clutch in the centre differential takes care of torque distribution between the front and rear axle. The GLK’s maximum tow rating is 1,588 kilograms (3500 lbs).

The Agility Control suspension in the GLK offers what’s called “amplitude-dependent damping.” During normal driving the system responds softly, but during more spirited driving the dampers adjust to a harder setting for optimum handling stability.

Mercedes-Benz automobiles received the world's most extensive engine tuning program from BRABUS, which introduced performance kits available for the new Mercedes-Benz V8 biturbo engines of the latest CL 500 and S, together with the S and CL 63 AMG models. Power output is boosted up to 620 HP and peak torque to 1,000 Nm, depending on the model and the level of tuning. The components, which were made from exposed carbon fiber, benefit from a BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers.

Two performance kits have been developed by the BRABUS engine specialists, for each of the new eight-cylinder biturbo engines and the engineers from BRABUS strongly recommend fully synthetic ARAL high-performance motor oil for all engines. Priced at EUR 4,900 MSRP, the BRABUS B50-490 PowerXtra CGI performance kit is available for the S 500 and CL 500 models, while the BRABUS B50-520 PowerXtra CGI performance kit can be purchased for EUR 5,900 MSRP and provides a power increase by 85HP for both 500 models. A water-to-air intercooler powered by an electric auxiliary pump is to be found in the two BRABUS power upgrades for the S 63 and CL 63 models.

The BRABUS B63-584 PowerXtra CGI performance kit is available for EUR 5,900 and offers its customers a power boost by 40HP and it is suitable for those S 63 and CL 63 models not equipped with performance package. For the S 63 and CL 63 models which house the BRABUS B63-620 PowerXtra CGI, the sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h was shortened to 4.3 seconds. The top speed reaches 320 km/h in combination with the integrated BRABUS V/max unit. With the BRABUS sport exhaust system, the driver is able to choose whether to enjoy the V8 sound quietly or in the Sport mode by simply pushing a button. Appealing and functional aerodynamic-enhancement components were developed for the body kit of the S 63 AMG in order to obtain better directional stability at extremely high speeds. The BRABUS front spoiler gives the production front apron a visual upgrade and reduces lift on the front axle. The interiors of S-Class sedans and CL coupes can be refined by BRABUS on customers' request to suit their personal tastes
