Mercedes-Benz automobiles received the world's most extensive engine tuning program from BRABUS, which introduced performance kits available for the new Mercedes-Benz V8 biturbo engines of the latest CL 500 and S, together with the S and CL 63 AMG models. Power output is boosted up to 620 HP and peak torque to 1,000 Nm, depending on the model and the level of tuning. The components, which were made from exposed carbon fiber, benefit from a BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers.
Two performance kits have been developed by the BRABUS engine specialists, for each of the new eight-cylinder biturbo engines and the engineers from BRABUS strongly recommend fully synthetic ARAL high-performance motor oil for all engines. Priced at EUR 4,900 MSRP, the BRABUS B50-490 PowerXtra CGI performance kit is available for the S 500 and CL 500 models, while the BRABUS B50-520 PowerXtra CGI performance kit can be purchased for EUR 5,900 MSRP and provides a power increase by 85HP for both 500 models. A water-to-air intercooler powered by an electric auxiliary pump is to be found in the two BRABUS power upgrades for the S 63 and CL 63 models.
The BRABUS B63-584 PowerXtra CGI performance kit is available for EUR 5,900 and offers its customers a power boost by 40HP and it is suitable for those S 63 and CL 63 models not equipped with performance package. For the S 63 and CL 63 models which house the BRABUS B63-620 PowerXtra CGI, the sprint time from 0 to 100 km/h was shortened to 4.3 seconds. The top speed reaches 320 km/h in combination with the integrated BRABUS V/max unit. With the BRABUS sport exhaust system, the driver is able to choose whether to enjoy the V8 sound quietly or in the Sport mode by simply pushing a button. Appealing and functional aerodynamic-enhancement components were developed for the body kit of the S 63 AMG in order to obtain better directional stability at extremely high speeds. The BRABUS front spoiler gives the production front apron a visual upgrade and reduces lift on the front axle. The interiors of S-Class sedans and CL coupes can be refined by BRABUS on customers' request to suit their personal tastes
