Mercedes Benz is one of the most well known car manufacturers in the world. It has been producing the highest quality of motors for over a century. In that time Mercedes has conquered the road, the track and the heart of many petrol heads. With the G-Class you can dominate the great outdoors in style!
Car manufacturers like Mercedes and BMW, who have long set the standards for the highest quality of driving experiences, have long been foiled by anything other than a flat road. Just looking at a hill or even a bit of dirt is enough to make some of their cars throw a wobbly. The Mercedes G-Class however is rugged, rough and ready for action. First created for use by the German Army, the G-Class is as comfortable on the road as it is driving up a mountain. In short, it’s just awesome.
With a selection of big engines ranging from a V6 to a V8, the G-Class really is one of the hidden gems of the 4x4 market. While Land Rover Defenders and Toyota Hiluxes are loud and proud, the G-Class is more of a silent warrior, until you turn on the engine! To drive the G is a spectacular vehicle; off-road it has the power to move planets and drive up even the steepest of slopes, and it is just as happy cruising around town, just don’t expect a smooth ride if you get the extreme
tyres.
The G-Class is certainly at the top end of the 4x4 price range, after all it is a Mercedes. However with a used Mercedes you can get a lot of bang for your buck and not have to bankrupt yourself. The best place to find bargains is definitely the internet; there’s a huge selection available in pretty much any colour. Popular sites such as Teletextcars list thousands of cars, and some degree of vetting goes on so you can be 99% sure you’re looking at a fantastic deal.
The bottom line is that the G-Class is a breathtaking off-road machine. If you buy a used Mercedes G, you’ll have enough money left over to kit it out with all the best outdoor gear. Mercedes really have conquered the frontier with this beast!
I can't say a Mercedes would be my first choice to take off-road, but looks like someone is getting it done.
