The 2007 Mercedes Benz S Class designation had long been used to identify top-of-the-line Mercedes-Benz sedans and coupes, and the S-Class has embodied the brand’s flagship role for more than five decades. Both vehicles add body kits, flashy wheels, fatter tires, and matching paint and interiors—but the similarities end there. The Brabus SLR is fitted with 20-inch forged aluminum wheels that the company claims will “further optimize handling and performance.” The front end receives a lift-reducing carbon-fiber spoiler, and the rear apron gets a similar carbon-fiber diffuser.

As if the stock SLR supercar didn’t have enough power from the factory, Brabus fits the 5.5-liter supercharged V-8 with more-aggressive camshafts and a fuel cooler. These two improvements net a gain of 24 horsepower for a total of 641. To help keep this power to the ground, a clutch-type limited-slip differential replaces the stock piece. These improvements allow the Brabus SLR to achieve 62 mph in a claimed 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph.

The interior is adorned with exclusive red leather and black Alcantara. The steering wheel gets a flat bottom to allow the driver to slip into and out of the roadster more easily. Carbon fiber trims the dashboard, the door panels, and the center console.

On the other hand, the Brabus-tuned Smart Fortwo, which is called the Ultimate 112, gets fender flares, a front spoiler, and side skirts. New 18-inch wheels with wider tires are bolted on to fill up the flares and provide more traction for the namesake 112-hp three-cylinder turbocharged engine. A tuned coil-over suspension keeps the wider tires pinned to the ground. The stainless-steel sport exhaust further informs others that you are not driving an ordinary Fortwo.

The 112 uses the same upholstery combination as the SLR. The rest of the interior receives body-colored trim pieces, an aluminum shift knob and brake handle, and stainless-steel “racing” pedals.

The BRABUS S V12 S Biturbo coupe is not just the most powerful coupe in the world - it is also the fastest street-legal coupe. It’s vital performance statistics of 0 – 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, 200 km/h after just 11.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 340 km/h are all without equal. Based on the latest Mercedes CL 600 model, the SV12 S Biturbo coupe can be ordered as a complete car starting at 178,980 Euros or can be built based on an existing current CL 600 model.


The engine is based on the turbocharged Mercedes 600 twelve-cylinder engine and represents the most powerful street-legal V12 engine in the world producing 730 hp / 537 kW at 5,100 rpm. Just as extraordinary is the peak torque of 1,320 Nm at just 2,100 rpm, which is limited electronically to 1,100 Nm. The mods are extensive, starting with installing a special BRABUS crankshaft with longer stroke, combined with a bigger bore and correspondingly sized forged pistons, increases displacement from 5.5 to 6.3 liters. After that, the cylinder heads are precision-machined and four new camshafts are fitted, two new exhaust manifolds, two larger turbochargers, a high-efficiency intercooler and a high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts and low back pressure.

Extensive bench tests determined the new programming for the engine electronics that not only maximizes power yield but also ensures that the engine meets stringent Euro IV emission limits.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a modified five-speed automatic transmission. The optionally available BRABUS locking differential optimizes traction. All BRABUS drivetrain elements are operated with ARAL high-performance lubricants.

The enormous performance of the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo coupe places exceptionally high demands on the aerodynamic-enhancement parts that were developed in the wind tunnel. The sophisticated shape of the BRABUS front apron reduces lift on the front axle and improves engine and front brake cooling due to its large air inlet. Integrated fog lamps and high beams lend the car a characteristic appearance and further improve active safety by optimizing illumination of the road.

The BRABUS rocker panels optimize the airflow along the sides and feature integrated entrance lights for safe entering and exiting of the vehicle in the dark.

The BRABUS rear apron sports custom-tailored cutouts for the BRABUS quad sport exhaust. Three LED lights integrated into the apron are also activated via the keyless fob. An understated rear spoiler rounds out the sophisticated BRABUS aerodynamics concept, and reduces lift on the rear axle for further improved directional stability at high speeds.

The enormous performance of the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo coupe is kept safely in check at all times thanks to custom-tailored solutions for tires, suspension and brakes. Among them are BRABUS Monoblock light-alloy wheels with diameters of 18, 19, 20 or 21 inches. The largest tire/wheel combination features BRABUS Monoblock VI and E wheels in sizes 9Jx21 in front and 10.5Jx21 on the rear axle. The largest corresponding tires are size 265/30 ZR 21 in front and size 295/30 ZR 21 in the rear. BRABUS recommends Pirelli and YOKOHAMA high-performance tires.

The C240 is really a darling little car - I say little, not because it's small, but more as a term of endearment. And of course it's classy - hey, it's a Mercedes after all...hellooo!

To me, this would be a great car for a younger "bizban" owner. What's "bizban"? You know, a business-urban person. If you never heard the expression before, that's okay, I just made it up. Anyway, that's why I say it's a good car for Will or Grace: young twenties, good looking, fun people who want to make a bit of a statement.

The car handles excellent. It feels elegant and the interior is typical MB reserved high class. It's got lots of power and is fun to drive. The engine is a 2.4 liter V6 which delivers168 horses at 5500 rpm (is that good?). On the downside however, the shifting was a bit sticky (well that's what happens when your suntan lotion spills over the gear shift console...just kidding).

GERMAN tuning company Brabus presented its new range based on the controversial styled Mercedes R-Class. Highlights of the product lineup are the BRABUS 6.1 S with 445 hp for the R 500, with an aerodynamic-enhancement program, light-alloy wheels up to 22 inches in diameter with custom-calibrated suspensions, and individual interior options.


BRABUS Tuning for the new Mercedes R-Class

R 320 CDI – 272 hp Equipped with BRABUS PowerXtra D6 (III) tuning rated power output of the R 320 CDI increases from standard 224 hp to 272 hp at 3,800 rpm. At the same time peak torque grows from 510 Nm to 590 Nm. With the tuned common-rail turbodiesel engine the R 320 CDI sprints from 0 - 100 km/h in 8.2 sec. The new top speed is 227 km/h.

R 500 – 445 hp The eight-cylinder R 500 can be elevated to new performance levels in four BRABUS tuning stages. The most powerful of them is labeled BRABUS 6.1 S. In addition to the displacement increase of the V8 engine to 6.1 liters the three-valve cylinder heads are optimized for improved mixture flow and fitted with special camshafts. The conversion further includes a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts. The result after the conversion: 445 hp at 6,000 rpm and an enormous peak torque of 635 Nm at 4,500 rpm. In BRABUS 6.1 S specification the Grand Sports Tourer delivers excellent performance: Just 5.9 sec for 0 - 100 km/h with a top speed of 265 km/h.

For a more sporty emphasis of the characteristic R-Class lines the BRABUS designers developed an aerodynamic-enhancement kit with front spoiler, precise-fit auxiliary headlight inserts for the front bumper and a rear apron with cutouts for the two dual chrome tailpipes of the BRABUS sport exhaust.

Just as important for a customized appearance are BRABUS Monoblock A, S and VI light-alloy wheels, which come in various designs with diameters ranging from 18 to 22 inches. The largest version for the new R-Class features BRABUS wheels in size 10Jx22 shod with Yokohama or Pirelli high-performance tires in size 265/35 ZR 22 in front and in size 295/30 ZR 22 on the rear axle.

The BRABUS suspension engineers developed sporty yet comfortable suspensions perfectly matched to the new tire/wheel combinations. BRABUS also offers high-performance brake systems for the new R-Class. The most powerful system, Version III, consists of 380-millimeter perforated discs and 12-piston aluminium calipers on the front axle. The rear axle features 6-piston calipers on 355-millimeter discs.

Luxury and individuality in the interior is another BRABUS specialty. The options range from stainless-steel sill plates with illuminated BRABUS logo to ergonomically shaped sport steering wheels to an exclusive BRABUS fully leather interior crafted from a combination of especially soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik and Alcantara leathers.

The BRABUS multimedia package is also available for the new model series. It includes DVD player, game console and LCD screens integrated into the back of the headrests. Upon customer request BRABUS can convert the new R-Class into a fully functional office on wheels with powered tables and a state-of-the-art computer system

The BRABUS ROCKET engine and the entire drivetrain are operated with high-performance lubricants from technology partner ARAL.

To keep the enormous performance potential of the world’s fastest sedan safely in check at all times the vehicle’s aerodynamics, suspension and brakes were modified extensively.

Like all other BRABUS body components for the CLS models the BRABUS ROCKET front spoiler received its final aerodynamic touches in the wind tunnel. Its large air dams ensure optimal cooling-air supply for all radiators. More importantly, it reduces lift on the front axle
and contributes to a further improved drag coefficient.

Its aerodynamic counterparts in the rear are the BRABUS rear spoiler lip for the trunk lid and the BRABUS rear fascia with integrated diffuser. They increase downforce and thus create a perfect aerodynamic balance.

The BRABUS rocker panels calm the airflow along the sides. As an additional feature the rocker panels and the rear fascia are equipped with integrated LED lights. Activated by the keyless-entry fob or by pulling on a door or trunk handle five LED lights an either side and in the rear of the vehicle illuminate the ground beside and behind the car.

To make the suspension even more agile and safe the BRABUS suspension engineers and test drivers in cooperation with Bilstein have developed a custom-calibrated height-adjustable coil-over suspension for the ROCKET. The gas-pressure shocks offer six selectable settings for bound and rebound.

Maximum stopping power is yet another active safety feature offered by the BRABUS ROCKET. The high-performance brake system features vented ceramic brake discs in size 375 x 36 mm and 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers on the front axle. Vented and perforated
steel discs in size 355 x 28 mm and 6-piston aluminum fixed calipers on the rear axle complete this efficient and strong brake system.

The giant size of the brake components and the enormous vehicle performance necessitate the use of BRABUS Monoblock VI or S light-alloy wheels with 19-inch diameter. The BRABUS ROCKET features 8.5Jx19 wheels in front with 255/35 ZR 19 tires and 10Jx19 rims with 285/30 ZR 19 tires on the rear axle.

The BRABUS ROCKET also meets the expectations of the most discriminating customers when it comes to the interior: The cockpit is upholstered with soft and breathable BRABUS Mastik leather and Alcantara. Genuine-carbon-fiber applications are part of the sporty
BRABUS interior as are an ergonomically shaped BRABUS sport steering wheel and the speedometer with 400-km/h dial.
