Mercedes wouldn’t be Mercedes if they didn’t prepare something really spectacular for the Frankfurt Motor Show. This time they came up with the Mercedes Benz F700 design study which is an ultra exclusive luxury sedan. The model previews osme of Mercedes’ upcoming technologies, such as the DiesOtto, which is a four-cylinder petrol engine, that develops 238hp and has the consumption levels of a diesel. With this technology, the 5.18 meters concept saloon does an amazing 44.3mpg (5.3L/100km) and just 127g of CO2/km.
Mated to a new hybrid starter/generator system and a seven-speed automatic gearbox, the car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.5 seconds. Engineers have also added new active PRE-SCAN suspension, a new system that scours the road ahead using two lasers and automatically adjusts the suspension to suit. Another feature is the new SERVO-HMI (Human Machine Interface), which features a virtual operating assistant that the driver can converse with.
