Mercedes-Benz E280 AMG 2008

For those who have been considering the Mercedes-Benz E-Class but wish it would be a bit more sporty, your wish has now been met by Mercedes-Benz which recently added an E280 with AMG Sports Package. To further emphasise on the luxurious capabilities of the locally-assembled model, the new E280 AMG Sports includes COMANDS APS and mobilephone pre-installation.

The E280 AMG Sports Package also comes standard with 18-inch 5-spoke AMG alloy wheels in titanium grey, AMG bodystyling of front and rear aprons, AMG exhaust system, sports-tuned suspension, AMG Sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles, sports pedals and footrest in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs, and 7G-TRONIC sport automatic transmission, among others.

Pioneering innovations help the Mercedes-Benz E-Class continue to set the pace of passenger car safety in its market segment. There is the anticipatory PRE-SAFE system whose 'reflexes' respond before an impending collision by activating protection measures for the driver and front passenger. As a result, the seatbelt and airbag provide maximum protection in the event of a collision. PRE-SAFE, a world first which went into series production in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class in 2002 and since then has received numerous international awards, heralds the start of a new era in vehicle safety. No other premium-class model is said to offer this kind of anticipatory protection system.

The NECK-PRO head restraints on the E 280 AMG Sports are equally unique. During a rear impact, the sensor-controlled head restraints are moved forward to provide protection for the driver's and front passenger's heads within milliseconds. The crash-responsive head restraints prevent the upper spinal column from bending as a result of the accident, reducing the risk of whiplash, which is one of the most common accident injuries.

Mercedes-Benz has also consistently fine-tuned the occupant safety features on the E-Class. It meets the most stringent international crash standards such as the U.S. 80 km/h rear impact test or the new U.S. side crash test, which simulates a collision with a heavy off-road vehicle. To date, the E-Class has completed some 330 crash tests as part of ongoing improvements to vehicle safety.

The new generation of the successful Mercedes model series is claimed to deliver even more agile handling. DIRECT CONTROL makes this possible - with this standard-fit package, the Mercedes engineers have made remarkable progress in terms of handling dynamics, without compromising the combination of safety and long-distance comfort - a consistent hallmark of the E-Class.

The AMG Sports Package reassures drivers with its superb handling, safety and stability. Newly-developed spring link bearings also support lateral forces more effectively when cornering and enhance the neutral cornering characteristics of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The ADAPTIVE BRAKE system is also taken from the latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class, thus providing new safety and comfort features thanks to the electronic control of the hydraulic dual-circuit brakes. An automatic tyre pressure loss warning system also forms part of the extended standard equipment on the E-Class.

For those who may still not be familiar with AMG, this is the high-performance division of Mercedes-Benz. It was originally an independent company (established in 1967) which specialised in developing high-performance parts (especially engines) for Mercedes-Benz models. Its successful business eventually brought it attention from Mercedes-Benz which decided, in 1998, to buy over the company.

Mercedes Benz SL 63 AMG and SL 65 AMG

Mercedes Benz SL 63 AMG and SL 65 AMG

Mercedes Benz SL 63 AMG and SL 65 AMG

Mercedes Benz SL 63 AMG and SL 65 AMG

Following on from Mercedes-Benz’s recent reveal of their updated SL-Class comes the AMG versions. The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is one of those cars that suits in equal measure, the enthusiast or the poseur. AMG’s version on the other hand is really only suited to the hardcore enthusiast with a love of horsepower and no concern for fuel consumption.

You can choose from two AMG versions of the SL, the entry level SL 63 AMG and the range topping SL 65 AMG. The SL 63 AMG is as the name suggests powered by a Mercedes-Benz 6.3-litre V8 producing 386kW and 630Nm, enough to see it lead its class in the power stakes. But remember, this is just the entry level SL and it’s the SL 65 AMG where things start to get a little raunchy.

The AMG SL 65 is on an altogether different level, with AMG having squeezed their 6.0-litre biturbo V12, good for an astonishing 450kW and massive 1000Nm. Both the SL 63 and SL 65 use an all new AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed gearbox which was designed as a joint venture by Mercedes-AMG GmbH and Daimler AG. The SPEEDSHIFT box features four driving modes including Comfort, Sport, Sport plus and manual.

Built to handle the massive torque produced by the likes of the AMG biturbo engine and able to handle up to 7,200 rpm, the new gearbox also gets the benefit of MCT or Multi Clutch Technology which not only enhances the driving experience with fast kick-down it also ensures longer gearbox life by providing almost load-free downshifts. Gear changing can be controlled via the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters or by using the more conventional selector lever.

Newly Developed AMG High-Performance Composite Brakes

The Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG is equipped with newly developed AMG high-performance brakes which ensure optimum application of the brake pressure, extremely short stopping distances and outstanding resistance to fading. The front axle boasts large composite brake discs with six-piston aluminum fixed calipers. The top-of-the-range AMG V12 model is fitted with a multiple-disc limited-slip differential with a locking factor of up to 40 percent for optimal traction.

Exterior Design Characterized by Even More Striking Dynamism

On a visual level, the new-generation AMG Roadster is distinguishable by its discreetly updated AMG bodystyling, including more dynamically styled AMG front aprons with an even more pronounced wedge shape and fog lamps ringed in chrome. In addition, the front apron of the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG also incorporates side air outlets allowing optimal flow through the auxiliary engine-oil cooler. Further unobtrusive yet highly effective model enhancement measures include an AMG-specific radiator grille with black louvers and chrome highlights and new tail lights with special AMG tinting.

New Interior with AMG RACETIMER

Not to be outdone, the interior of the SL 65 AMG also sports an even more dynamic and premium-quality look. New genuine carbon-fiber trim elements add just the right degree of sportiness and reflect AMG's successful involvement in the world of motorsport. The AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel with its specially molded rim is now fitted with silver-colored aluminum AMG shift paddles.

Further new features include the AMG main menu on the instrument cluster, which displays the currently engaged gear and recommended upshifts plus either the engine oil temperature, the battery voltage or the RACETIMER. The new RACETIMER function allows the driver to record lap times on private racing circuits, storing not only the time for the fastest lap but also the average and top speeds as well as the lap length.

It takes just 16 seconds to open or close the folding hard-top, a glass version of which can be specified as an optional extra. The AMG sports seats, interior door panels and armrests are upholstered in fine nappa leather.

Greater ease of use than before is assured by the optionally available electric remote-locking boot lid feature which enables the boot to be opened and closed with the minimum of effort. Standard equipment includes a removable luggage cover which increases the boot capacity by 22 liters to 339 liters – more than any other competitor in this segment. A few easy moves are all it takes to remove the luggage cover. As well as freeing up more boot space, this feature makes loading easier and boosts the boot's utility value.

Carlsson CK35 - Mercedes-Benz C350

With the new C Class, Mercedes Benz continues the successful story of this compact executive car. Nevertheless, Carlsson has already devoted considerable attention to the saloon resulting in a new automotive dimension in both visual and dynamic terms. The company achieved these goals through a variety of measures including elegant aerodynamic parts, a performance kit, new wheels and improved interior appointments. The result is a vehicle that meets the highest expectations of driving pleasure and active safety – not a dazzler but a car with race-track engineering that meets the promise of looks and paper form.

Carlsson CD32 - Mercedes Benz ML 320 CDI

For all off-road enthusiasts the famous Mercedes-Benz tuner Carlsson is offering a complete tuning package, which clearly, if tastefully, underlines the modern features of the M-Class. Big, voluminous yet still sporty, with its performance tweaked to 269 bhp and a potent torque, and combining this with a touch of luxury, the CD 32 based on the ML 320 CDI always cuts a fine figure both in the countryside and in the metropolitan jungle.

Carlsson performance Kit C-Tronic® Diesel POWER

It is easy to be seen that this SUV needs plenty of power. In other words, there is a lot of weight that has to be moved. Hence, drivers of the ML 320 CDI will certainly appreciate the power of 269 bhp/198 kW. According to Carlsson, a maximum torque of 612 Nm is generated at 1800 rpm.
Carlsson attaches great importance to safety and reliability: correction maps ensure that reserves of the engine are only used when the temperature is in the safe operating zone. The straight-forward installation of the supplementary control unit, which is possible through Carlsson's adapter system, is also interesting for the customer to avoid long waiting times. Thanks to the plug-and-play capability, it can be installed quite quickly and, if required, can also be rebuilt.

Stainless steel silencers with twin oval tailpipes each

The rear view of the CD32 is dominated by the four tailpipes of the Carlsson sports rear silencers, which not only give out an impressive, sonorous, sporty sound, but are also optimised, in comparison with the standard version, in terms of exhaust back pressure and gas conduction, and thus contribute to the achievement of greater torque and improved performance. The design of the tailpipes offers a significant practical advantage: they are double-walled, i.e. thermally insulated and, in addition, optimised in terms of air flow, thus guaranteeing less external dirt.

Electronic suspension lowering C-Tronic® SUSPENSION
Greater ride comfort in all situations

By means of the electronic lowering system C-Tronic® SUSPENSION, the centre of gravity of the vehicle is lowered by up to 40 mm. This results in a sporty look and better handling of the vehicle because of the limitation of roll. A further advantage of the improved aerodynamics, which are achieved by the lowering of the suspension, is the reduction in the front profile of the vehicle. This results in a higher top speed and better fuel consumption, particularly in the case of off-road vehicles. Whilst usual lowering systems for vehicles with electronic suspension confine themselves to lowering the centre of gravity of the vehicle, the innovative technology of the C-Tronic® SUSPENSION allows for automatic intelligent interaction with road conditions. On poor road surfaces and in response to the persistent spring deflection, which they cause, the lowering effect is automatically attenuated in order to ensure the appropriate spring travel required for the most comfortable ride.

Elegance for the adventurous

Even in its unmodified form, the ML 320 CDI is visually impressive with its interplay of strongly contoured panels and taut lines. The Carlsson design of the aerodynamic components lends support to the sovereign character of the new M-Class but at the same time gives it a sportier feel. The front spoiler and the lip on the rear skirt appear with the characteristic Carlsson 'diffuser look'.

Wheel 1/11 Evo Brilliant Edition

The design of the Carlsson 1/11 Evo BE is a further development of the tried, tested and popular 1/11 BE wheel. With the new wheel, Carlsson has once again confirmed that the company's claim that a wheel should not only have a visual impact but also offer technical benefits, e.g., that it is as light as possible.
For the ML-Class, Carlsson offers its 11-spoke wheel 1/11 Evo BE in the dimensions 11x22" with Dunlop SP Sport 9000 285/30 R22 tyres.

Luxurious interior ambience

The interior design also fulfils the expectations aroused by the CD32 when approaching the car. Only the very best materials have been used for the interior appointments of the CD32. A combination of Alcantara and leather make the passenger compartment an inviting and pleasant place to be, even on very long journeys. With the ergonomic Carlsson sports steering wheel in leather / Alcantara or leather / wood, the driver can be sure of always having the car under control in a particularly pleasant way. Pedals made from aluminium add a sporty touch. Illuminated door exit lights show the way into a world of luxury and genuine atmosphere.

Naturally, there are no limits on customer wishes when it comes to individual fittings and appointments for the car.

Mercedes Carlsson CK65 RS

Mercedes Carlsson CK65 RS

This particular CK65 RS is a very special version. Carlsson has limited the production and created an engine upgrade to 720 bhp with a maximum torque of 1100 Nm. The 0-100 kilometers per hour sprint takes only 3.9 seconds, that's faster than an Italian supercar like the Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari F430. Well, supercar, maybe they are not true supercars but they are definately two very fast Italian cars. The topspeed of this twotone monster has been limited to 320 kilometers per hour.

Autogespot spotter "maybach" was very lucky to photograph this car. Monaco is the place to be for these kind of cars but still, it's no guarantee you're going to see them. The interior of the CK65 RS has been designed by Etienne Aigner, well known for his purses, juwelery and shoes. His leather has been used all over in the interior.
